Lady Gaga, also known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Gerotta began her performance career as a musical theatre and burlesque performer in the East Village in New York she was apparently trying to follow the path of night club performers gone superstars like Bette Midler or Madonna. After struggling for many years before she found her way to record her first album and also creating songs for Fergie and Britney Spears. While the album she released "The Fame" was not a huge success at the time, "Just Dance", the single that debuted from the album, became a massive success just five months after. She was touring relentlessly in Europe and smaller clubs in the US. By 2009, a number of tracks from the album were routinely being played on radio stations. For her hard work she was awarded multiple Grammy nominations and two Grammy Awards. She has been producing amazing music and has made headlines since the time she released her album. The appearances she makes at awards shows get a lot of attention since she is an active social activist and natural exhibitionist.
